By popular demand….NCM Fathom and Viz Pictures bring Live Action DEATH NOTE II: THE LAST NAME to select movie theaters nationwide for two nights only - Wednesday, October 15th and Thursday, October 16th, 2008 at 7:30 PM (local)!  DEATH NOTE II: THE LAST NAME (English dubbed) is the sequel to, and an immediate continuation of, DEATH NOTE, brought to U.S. movie theaters earlier this year by VIZ Pictures and Fathom.   This exclusive event will feature an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the creation of DEATH NOTE II: THE LAST NAME, an in-depth interview with Director Shusuke Kaneko and a unique look at the talent behind the characters.
Please note: This event is not officially rated but should be treated as equivalent to an "R" rating.
Written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, DEATH NOTE II: THE LAST NAME begins as Light Yagami joins the investigation team in pursuit of the serial killer known as "Kira.” While L still strongly suspects that Light is "Kira,” Light Yagami continues to seek out the real name of L so he can kill him with his Death Note. Making things even more unpredictable are the 'Eyes of Death', given to the second Kira, enabling the owner to know the true identity and lifespan of any person. Adding further confusion for the authorities, a new rash of murders attributed to the Death Note occurs all over the world and is attributed to "the Second Kira.” Light Yagami learns the identity of the other Kira and wants to join forces to get rid of L. Will L be able to catch "Kira" before he gets killed? Who will be the last name written in the Death Note book?
Don’t miss your chance to see DEATH NOTE II: THE LAST NAME larger-than-life on the big screen!

About Zenkaikon:
Zenkaikon was formed by the merger of the anime and sci-fi con Zentrancon, and the anime con, Kosaikon, both in the Philadelphia area. In 2006 they put on their first event which was a tremendous success. Zenkaikon will return to the Valley Forge Scanticon Conference Center for its third installment on 10/17-10/18/08. The con will kick off its expansion to two days of programming on the evening of Friday, October 17 with concerts, a Cosplay Ball, gaming and other special events. A full day of convention action will follow on Saturday, October 18 with video screenings, concerts, gaming, cosplay masquerade, the new Zenkaikon favorites - the anime version of "Whose Line Is It Anyway" and The Cosplay Dating Game, and so much more!
For more information about Zenkaikon 2008 please visit www.zenkaikon.com and/or email the Zenkaikon chair with any questions at Zenkaikon@gmail.com.

About The Slants:
The Slants are currently riding high on the emerging popularity of their debut full-length, the tongue-in-cheek titled "Slanted Eyes, Slanted Hearts", an album full of new wave, synth, pop, and danceable rock, all with an Asian flavor. The album has catchy hooks, smooth harmonies, and anthemic choruses - everything that a perfect record should have. And it has been catching the support of a new breed of fans: anime watching, video game playing, manga reading kids who are in love with the band's sound and show presence. The "Slants army" has been coming out in the thousands, with scheduled appearances in the near future for audiences of 12,000 plus. All this for a band who¹s first show was in June 2007. Talk about an out-of-the-gate success.

The Slants have an extensive tour schedule throughout 2008 and 2009 already on the books. Look for them at a club or anime convention near you.

More Than 550 Attendees, Breaking Last Year’s Record

VALLEY FORGE, PA – Zenkaikon would like to thank the 2007 attendees, artists and vendors for making 2007 the biggest Zenkaikon attendance yet. “We hosted 570 con-goers, a more than 100 person attendance surge from last year’s record of 450 people. Zenkaikon is all about the fans. The Zenkaikon staff and I would not be able to have such a successful convention without them,” said Jacqueline Reitnauer, Zenkaikon Con-chair.

New to Zenkaikon this year was the band HSU-NAMI who was one of the acts that rocked the Main Events room. The returning favorite, Eyedolu, engaged the crowd with another first-rate musical performance. Karl “Uncle Yo” Custer kept his promise to, “Make you laugh so hard, your chibi will feel it.” with his comedic observations about otaku, gamers, Trekkies, comic book fan-boys, and the like. The “Cosplay Dating Game” had contestants playing as their favorite anime, video game and manga characters. The laughter continued with The “Whose Line Is It Anyway” inspired “Anime Whose Line” where contestants performed impromptu comedy skits as various anime, video game and manga characters.

In addition to the attendees and performers was the diverse group of vendors and artists at this year’s Zenkaikon. The Dealer’s Room had 22 tables selling everything from Pocky, vintage kimonos, and T-shirts to jewelry, DVDs and video games. Artists’ Alley had 24 tables showcasing many creative talents from hand-made bags, clothes and jewelry to original art, fan art and on the spot commissioned portraits.

Zenkaikon 2008 will take place on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18!!. at the Scanticon Valley Forge Hotel and Conference Center in King of Prussia, PA.

Keep watching www.Zenkaikon.com for details on Zenkaikon 2008 pre-registration dates and rates, artist and vendor table reservations and information on 2008 performers and events!

8:00 am - For Immediate Release: Zenkaikon is Proud to offer GAME by Piano Squall

August 3, 2007

A Portion of the Proceeds Benefit Multiple Sclerosis Research

VALLEY FORGE, PA – Along with wonderful Anime and SciFi entertainment Zenkaikon will give con-goers the opportunity to purchase Piano Squall’s CD GAME. The CD features Piano Squall’s aka Michael Gluck’s original arrangement and performance of twenty-six theme songs from videogames and anime, including Final Fantasy, Naruto, Super Mario World, InuYasha, Chrono Trigger, Cowboy Bebop, Mega Man, Chrono Cross, Full Metal Alchemist, Tetris, and Evangelion. Highlights include Michael’s signature Final Fantasy Battle Medley, which blends nine Final Fantasy battle themes together into a single spectacular piece.

Michael and the videogame publisher Electronic Arts will collaborate to donate an amount equal to 20% of all profits from GAME to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. But this is not the first time that Michael and his employer have joined forces for charity. In 2006, Michael and EA raised $8,600 for the National MS Society and $4,000 for Race for the Cure through selling “Piano Squall” posters at Michael’s concerts.

“I am always exploring new ways to combine my love of videogame and anime music with my mission to fight Multiple Sclerosis, and I couldn’t be more excited about the launch of GAME,” said Michael. “I watched my grandmother waste away in a chair, completely paralyzed by MS for the last ten years of her life. We must cure this horrible disease as quickly as possible.”

GAME is also available now at PianoSquall.com. The price is $9.99 with Free Shipping anywhere in the United States.

About Piano Squall:
Under the stage name “Piano Squall”, Michael Gluck performs videogame and anime music piano concerts to raise money for charity. Since 2003, he has given concerts in sixteen different states to benefit organizations such as The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Race for the Cure, Baltimore Reads, The Maryland Food Bank, The Matthew Foster Foundation, and Tsunami Relief. Michael also donates a portion of all personal proceeds to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society to fight the disease that destroyed his grandmother’s life.
In 2005, Michael performed at the anime convention Otakon for an audience of three thousand people, and later that year, he was featured on MTV’s website in recognition for his contributions to the world of videogame music. In 2007, Michael released his debut album, entitled GAME, which became the first videogame and anime piano solo CD to be published by an independent musician.
